![]() So it was Thick Mojo in the morning, but at night it was The Pheromones at The Snout Saloon. The kickoff to music being back at the Snout for the winter season. It is great to have the fall music season starting up again. It almost makes me forget that its only just a sign winter is coming. I would have to say the band was dragging. It was a beautiful day. Maybe they were all out doing things. I hope so! I am just so impressed these people can do this night after night. These musicians, for very little money take time and money out of their day to go to a bar and throw it out there. …only to have some critic in the audience bitch about it on his blog. The last time I saw the band they were playing at My Place. It was packed. The energy was high. The whole place was jamming. The night at the Snout was nothing like that. Everyone seemed tired. So, I write these articles. Then I send them over to The Wife for editorial review. She came back pointing out that I had also said Thick Mojo was low energy earlier in the day. She pointed out that maybe the bands were just fine, maybe I was the one who's ass was dragging. Ok, ok, point taken. Maybe that was it.
Steve Baker plays guitar with the band The Pheromones at The Snout Saloon. September 2011
The sound was pretty good. And, the Pheromones are a band that does really care about how they sound. As it happened they didn't have a dedicated sound man the night of the show so it was Steve Baker who was splitting some of his time from the stage and behind the board. It made a difference.
Next weekend, the 17th is Ross William Perry is in town to play at The Snout. It should be a great night!
