So what is this project? What is a wiki? I guess I am doing this project because some people collect baseball cards. They collect them, they read the information on them, they memorize what they can. They shuffle them, and they keep up with the changes of who is batting for whom. But I hate baseball. And, I spend lots and lots of time in front of computer screens. I am a music fan, and I am interested in what made the musicians I listen to, who they are. And, I have this life long desire to document things and put them into databases. Information that as years go by, creates history. Some people create history, others document it. I guess I am in the latter category. I, the author, have biases. If all of you let me do this whole thing by myself, you are going to get my biases. The Chippewa Valley Music Wiki, uses software that allows many people to edit the content here. Wiki Software. Just ask for an account and you can change whatever you feel needs changing. And, who am I really? I am the guy skulking around the back of your venue. I try to unobtrusively capture what I see. I am doing what I am here, because I want to. I am not a ladder climber, I am happy where I am. I listen to music like I have my whole life. ![]() |
